Ave

After adopting the Cougar as its mascot of Averett athletics, the mascot has taken many forms over the years. When the Averett Department of Athletics rebranded in 2012, the university unveiled a male (Rett) and female (Ave) Cougar mascot for fans. Ave (pronounced “Ava”) and Rett cheer on Averett’s varsity athletics programs and make appearances in the Averett and Danville community as the face of Averett athletics.
