Slider

Slider is third live bat dog in team history. He was introduced in 2018 and took over full time bat dog duties in 2019. In addition to retrieving bats, Slider also brings baseballs to the umpires, runs the bases after each Pelicans’ win, and greets fans in the concourse at the ballpark during games. Since 1999 the Pelicans have had a bat dog, starting with Dinger who retired in 2008 and followed by Deuce who retired in 2018. Slider is a yellow lab, continuing the tradition of the breed at Pelicans Ballpark.
