Crocs Finally Gives Its Crocodile a Body (And a Personality)
For 24 years, the crocodile on the side of every Crocs Classic Clog just sat there, silently judging your shoe choices. Not anymore. Meet Niles — six feet tall, freshly hatched, and reportedly a Leo. Crocs rolled out a month of teaser “Easter eggs” (including a literal egg lurking in TikTok livestreams) before Niles officially hatched on August 13th. “He’s been hiding in plain sight for nearly 25 years,” said Crocs Chief Brand Officer Terence Reilly. “We figured he deserved a promotion from rivet to real life.” A croc becoming a mascot — now that’s a real sole transformation. Toronto Tempo Welcomes Dez and Dot to the Team
The WNBA’s Toronto Tempo introduced two brand-new mascots on August 18th: Dez, a Borealis Blue snapping turtle, and Dot, an Arctic hare — a playful, all-Canadian twist on the tortoise-and-the-hare story. “There’s no better representation of tempo than that juxtaposition,” said Tempo chief marketing officer Whitney Bell.
