The New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Los Angeles Angels remain the only MLB franchises without official costumed mascots — the Yankees famously declined on principle, presumably because pinstripes speak for themselves.

Independent Baseball League Mascots

Independent league teams have no MLB affiliation. They’re the scrappy entrepreneurs of the baseball world — no development deals, just baseball and, often, outstanding mascot creativity.

Trivia: The Atlantic League has served as a de facto testing ground for MLB rule changes, including the universal DH and robot umpire trials — which makes their mascot game arguably more innovative than their rulebook.
