Cal Poly’s Musty the Mustang’s first physical appearance was June of 1953 after it was donated to Cal Poly by Circle K (noted in 1954 yearbook). Musty’s name started being used for the mascot in 1984. Musty has been the Champion of the Big West Conference Mascot Battle!
